Parents

You can stay and watch at any time, but please keep in mind:

  • Checking your phone or having conversations while by the court can distract and irritate the children.
  • You might be distracting them.
  • Giving them instructions and advice undermines the authority of the coaches and disrupts the other participants and the entire process.

In our school, we aim to nurture children’s independence and demonstrate trust in their behavior and decisions.

Parent Meetings:

Parent meetings are usually held twice a year, at the beginning and end of the season. These meetings are important for clarifying goals and expectations and clearly outlining the school’s and training rules.

Here’s what happens at these meetings:

  • Introduction of the coaching and management team
  • Goals and expectations
  • School philosophy
  • Group structure
  • Club and training rules
  • Season calendar – holidays, tournaments, registration, camps
  • Parental behavior that supports their children’s development in sports
  • Children’s behavior that fosters their development as good and responsible citizens

Over the years, we’ve learned that the more parents and children understand our philosophy and rules, the more productive and peaceful the season is for everyone.
